Exit Signs

Wednesday, July 11th, 2012

in working on residential building hallway renovations we often have to specify emergency lighting and exit signs for egress means:

Where possible, we’ve been installing the Encore Exit signs, especially the recessed UNO or Endurance XS series.

Description:

The Encore “Uno” Series is a fully universal LED Edgelit Exit Sign with a brushed die cast aluminum housing and trim plate. A tapered injection molded acrylic panel hangs from the trim plate. The acrylic panel utilizes an invisible hinge and removable arrows that allow the installer to choose all combinations of surface or recessed mounting including arrow configurations in the field.

Electronics/Battery:

Both Battery and AC only units accept input of 120/277 VAC, 60 Hz. Power consumption is 1.9 watts. Battery backup models use maintenance free NiCad batteries. Charging is accomplished with a constant current charger capable of recharging as per UL924 standards. No mechanical relays are used, transfer is accomplished using solid state circuitry.

LED Illuminator:

The LED Illuminator consists of 10 Ultra bright Piranha LEDs. The Piranha LED has a nearly 180 degree emitting angle allowing for even illumination. The LEDs are wired in sets of two, insuring that in the unlikely event of a single LED failure, the sign will continue to be illuminated.

Emergency Lighting

Are you looking for a well designed emergency lighting? This is what we’ve been specifying in residential hallway renovations in the city.

The Mirage Series by Encore provides a minimum of 90 minutes of emergency illumination upon AC input failure utilizing fully recessed, concealed 12V MR16 lamps. Ideal for aesthetic applications that require “invisible” emergency lighting. Door/Lamp Assembly turns 180 degrees upon failure of AC power.

Installation:

Recessed or Surface mount, wall or ceiling mount. Rough in section includes vertically adjustable mounting plates to ensure flush installation. T-bar clips secure unit in grid ceiling mount applications. Lamps can easily be aimed after Door/Lamp Assembly is installed.
